An Interview With Art Psychology Student Alisa Hamilton

I interviewed student Alisa Hamilton from Goldsmiths University in London, who studies art psychotherapy. She talked to me about her experiences with university, the course, what her thoughts are on art therapy and its impact on the people that she will work with and has done in the past.

As someone who had never even thought about art therapy before beginning this blog, it is interesting to see how much the practice has grown and become a much more accepted form of therapy that should be more widely recognised. I’m beginning to see the effect that this kind of therapy has had on people. However, I can completely understand why something like this may not be for everyone, but for anyone wanting to experience a different way of opening up one’s mind, then definitely give art therapy a try.

I also have, a selection of work that Alisa showed me in a gallery below
